In this role, you will provide leadership in the development of the organization’s product strategy and product team. Work across the organization to gather insights from primary product sales and support departments. You’ll be accountable for strategy input and also recommending new product features and services or changes to the existing products and services for the purpose of growing customer adoption/use of products and services. Additionally, you will perform the role of product advocate on cross-functional teams, presenting new product proposals and/or enhancements that support achievement of revenue and profit objectives as well as contribute to the organization's growth strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and management of traditional and digital bank product and services, including deposits and loans.
  • Collaborate with non-retail bank business lines to identify customer needs and align on objectives to help with the management and development of their respective products and services (trusts, investments, payments, accounts receivable financing).
  • Research and analyze customer data to determine product requirements and structure to best fit the needs of the established target markets. Customer outreach through focus groups and surveys will serve as part of the research process.
  • Responsible for assessing and reporting on the effectiveness, revenue generation, market penetration, and profitability of new and existing products and services.
  • Keep apprised of industry trends and shifts in the competitive landscape. Incorporate relevant products within our traditional and digital ecosystem starting with pilots/proof of concepts to launching them into production.
  • Understand the regulatory, legal and security context to maintain compliance and manage risk.
  • Effectively manage assigned vendor relationships to ensure their effectiveness, continued relevance and performance are on track.
  • Manage product roll outs from start to finish.
  • Work with marketing team to produce development strategies to drive product sales growth and create and maintain product material such as procedures, user guides, customer communications and marketing materials.
  • Internally promote new and existing products to sales teams.
  • Develop and oversee ongoing training to salesforce on new and existing products and services.
  • Position will require collaboration with various departments of the organization, including retail, marketing and operations.
  • As a CFS employee, this person understands their role as defined by the three lines of defense to maintain a compliance culture that includes risk management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field or commensurate experience is required.
  • More than 5 years of bank product management experience.
  • Extensive ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Extensive knowledge of banking products, services, processes, and infrastructural components that impact assigned products and services.
  • Extensive written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and project management skills. Ability to train and present to small and large audiences. Ability to present findings and recommendations to the most senior levels of the organization. Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to influence others and deliver effective feedback.
  • Extensive ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company and with vendor partners to achieve positive customer experience and timely problem resolution.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
