Chesapeake Payment Systems (“CPS”), a division of Chesapeake Bank, is a specialty line of business focused on merchant acquiring for clients locally and nationally. Merchant acquiring refers to the process through which businesses accept and process card payments, such as credit or debit card transactions, from their customers. CPS is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a Client Support Associate. This role will be part of the sales and client services team that supports mid to large, payment processing partners throughout the United States. The ideal candidate for this role will play a key part in supporting sales operations, facilitating smooth client onboarding processes, and managing administrative tasks that help drive business success. Your ability to handle multiple responsibilities with efficiency, professionalism, and attention to detail will be highly valued. This role will be onsite with the team in our offices in Norge, Virginia, just outside of Williamsburg and approximately 40 minutes from Richmond.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the sales team in managing client accounts and ensuring timely responses to client inquiries.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings between the sales team and multiple parties.
  • Provide administrative support to the CPS sales and service team.
  • Coordinate and follow up on due diligence documentation for prospects
  • Assist in onboarding new clients, ensuring a seamless onboarding process
  • Manage requests and track progress of requests for partners
  • Complete research on new partners and communicate findings to management
  • Set up system access for external parties and monitor communications
  • Assist in planning and coordination for partner visits, including communication, setup, and event logistics
  • Organize travel arrangements for client visits and company events
  • Assist with data collection from partners as needed
  • Understand your role as defined by the three lines of defense to maintain a compliance culture that includes risk management processes
  • All other duties assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Work experience in administrative support, with sales team support experience preferred.
  • Merchant Acquiring or Financial Services experience preferred
  • Motivated, goal oriented and persistent
