Summary

The Strategic Account Manager (“SAM”) serves as the primary business contact for strategic sponsored partners within the merchant acquiring division.  Responsible for building, solidifying, and enhancing client relationships to ensure maximum profitability and growth; the SAM is expected to identify opportunities as well as to communicate and advocate client needs. The SAM will maintain and track client profitability with regards to goal attainment, program sales, and contract renewals while being able to communicate trends of the clients. The SAM must have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across all levels of management within an organization.

This role encompasses more than just maintaining relationships; it involves actively contributing to the company's growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Client retention and satisfaction from sales handoff through life of partnership
  • Utilize a consultative relationship approach at all levels within organization
  • Introduce new features and product opportunities to clients
  • Uncover, introduce, and implement opportunities to increase client satisfaction
  • Orchestrate and manage various projects and maintain client expectations
  • Act as an escalation point and ensure resolution of any client issues
  • As requested, assist with quarterly business reviews with each assigned client
  • Set, track, and report on client goals in conjunction with the bank’s strategic plan goals
  • Complete needs analysis for each assigned client
  • Assist with various tasks to ensure success of assigned strategic goals
  • Educate and inform others within bank and/or division on partner relationship details
  • Assist with budgetary planning and forecasting for activity from partners
  • Assist with data collection from partners as needed
  • Collaborate with other units within the bank to ensure resolution of any issues that arise regarding CPS clients
  • Create uniform process and methods for handling client requests or needs
  • Demonstrate high professional demeanor in all client engagement
  • Understand your role as defined by the three lines of defense to maintain a compliance culture that includes risk management processes
  • All other duties assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience in Sales and/or Client Management
  • Merchant Acquiring Industry Sales experience preferred
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships at C-level and Middle Management
  • Strong time management, organizational and forecasting skills
  • Track record of revenue generation
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Motivated, goal oriented and persistent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Able to lift 25 lbs
