Summary:

Chesapeake Bank is looking for an individual to join our growing commercial loan team as a Credit Analyst. The individual in this role will support several lenders, assisting them with credit memo presentations as well as analyzing and monitoring the credit worthiness of the bank’s commercial loan customer. This position will perform various duties to support the overall needs of our commercial loan team, including creating loan approval packages, analyzing financial statements, tax returns and bank references to evaluate the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for credit with the bank. This individual will prepare comprehensive commercial credit analysis to assist the loan officer in making credit decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains information from loan officers on new loan requests and assists in screening loan requests based on financial institution policies and on types of loans offered by the bank.
  • Assists in the preparation of loan packages for loan approval which includes preparing a comprehensive commercial credit analysis, spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions.
  • Obtains loan request information from Commercial Loan Administrator, Commercial Portfolio Coordinator and Loan Officers to analyze credit information, financial statements and other related information pertaining to the loan.
  • Requests financial statements on existing borrowers from account officer if they have not been obtained.
  • Review and approve credit approval memorandums within the appropriate software.
  • Works closely with the Commercial Loan Administrator, Commercial Loan Coordinator and Commercial Portfolio Coordinator and assists where needed.

Requirements

  • Previous banking experience is preferred
  • College degree or equivalent qualifying job experience is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and work independently
  • Ability to understand complex operational processes and workflows
  • Ability to work quickly and an accurately, analyze information, and make decisions
  • Willingness to assume additional responsibilities, duties, and projects as they arise
