Chesapeake Bank is on the lookout for a Commercial Portfolio Coordinator to join our growing commercial loan team. You’ll be the go-to wizard for keeping credit files current, renewal packages polished, and compliance tasks in check. And yes—this role is customer-facing! Summary:

Chesapeake Bank is looking for an individual to join our growing commercial loan team as a Commercial Portfolio Coordinator. The individual in this role will support several lenders, assisting them with maintaining up to date customer’s credit files.  This role involves gathering and reviewing updated financials, assisting in the preparation of renewal packages, maintaining accurate records in the loan origination system, and regulatory compliance tasks. The individual in this role will also be responsible for some general clerical duties such as data entry, answering phone calls, and filing/sorting of documents.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors loan portfolio for upcoming maturities and assist the Commercial Loan Administrator in gathering updated financials and required documentation for renewals.
  • Maintains credit files on assigned portfolios with current financials.
  • Works with the Credit Analyst to complete required loan and relationship analysis and compile the renewal package for review/approval.
  • Works with the Loan Officer and Loan Coordinator to facilitate a credit memo/loan package for the necessary approvals.
  • Works with the Loan Officer to complete annual review forms.
  • Monitor and facilitate customer annual reviews.
  • Collect required information needed from customers; submit to Credit Analyst if financial reviews are needed; update LOS upon completion.
  • Monitor ticklers (financials, insurance, covenants) and gather and review required information.
  • Monitor covenants and works with the credit analyst to assess as needed (monthly, quarterly, annually, Borrowing Base, etc.); monitor completion with updates to tracking system/LOS
  • Works closely with the lending team and assists where needed.
  • Assist Loan Officer / Commercial Loan Administrator in any other functions/duties to further the overall customer/Bank relationship.
  • Understands their role as defined by the three lines of defense to maintain a compliance culture that includes risk management processes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

 

  • Previous banking experience is preferred
  • College degree or equivalent qualifying job experience is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be able to switch between tasks and work independently
  • Ability to understand complex operational processes and workflows
  • Ability to work quickly and an accurately, analyze information, and make decisions
  • Willingness to assume additional responsibilities, duties, and projects as they arise
